GoKinda founder and travel expert Alison Greer has devoted much of her working life to the travel industry (and much of her personal life to travelling). So when she began to learn of the damage that travel can cause the planet, she couldn’t unlearn it. Alison knew that in order to continue to feel good about travel, there needed to be a kinder way to do it.
Alison began her search for kinder stays – the type of hotels that were actively aiming to do better by people and the planet. And yet, this wasn’t her only mission. The design-savvy traveller was eager to find eco-conscious stays that didn’t compromise on style either. This, she realised, was no mean feat. Before long, Alison had discovered just how complex the world of eco claims and certification really is. She knew she couldn’t be the only one wanting to book sophisticated stays that were kind to the planet – so she decided to create a hotel booking platform that handpicked the best in stylish, conscious stays from around the world.
